Events
The club promotes a range of events throughout the year. These events may be held independently or through other car clubs - particularly ToyMods and the Qld and ACT Supra clubs. Events include:
- Club cruises
- Track days
- Dyno days
Annual events are listed under the Events Calendar on this page and updated as more information comes to hand. The next event is also listed in the top right hand corner of the home page. Refer also the Gallery page for more videos & pictures of past events.
Clubs Cruises / Social Events
The Club has a range of social events each year - some of which are arranged in conjunction with oby other clubs. Highlights include:
- The Christmas party supported by TRD.
- ANSM (Australian National Supra Meet) arranged by the Qld Supra Club and held in Port Macquarie.
- Toyotafest (with ToyMods car club) which involves a show 'n shine, annual dinner and separate drag race event.
- Toyota Nationals in Dubbo which involves a shon 'n shine, drag or Motokhana
Cruises are arranged regularly by Members - with the most popular cruises being the Sydney - Entrance or Sydney - Newcastle cruises which allow Sydney based Members to join together with Members form the Newcastle and Hunter regions. The traditional Hally birthday cruise in 2008 was attended by 53 Supras!
Track Days
The club promotes track days which are limited events (referred to as "Sprints"). Track events can be a little expensive, are time consuming to organise - but are highly rewarding! To attend a track day you will require:
- Mechanically sound car (as the car will be scrutinised).
- A CAMS license (unless the day is managed by an events management group which has arranged separate public liability insurance).
- Fire extinguisher which costs approx $20-$30).
- Helmet (which can be hired on the day).
- Other (leather shoes etc).
Supras are ideal for track events and it is not necessary to have big brakes or other performance modifications to enjoy a track day. Advice and assistance will be available from Club Members to those that are new to these events in the lead up to the event. where the day is coordinated by an events management group, expert drivers will be available to provide instruction if required. members attending are encouraged to run at their own pace - particularly during the early stages.
Dyno Days
Dyno days are arranged in conjunction with a tuning shop. A dyno day represetns not only the opportunity to see the high performance cars in action, but also to put all cars on the Dyno to assess performance. These days are arranged subject to demand from Club Members.
Payment for Events
Where applicable, Members may pay for events using the club's PayPal facilities with the exception of events arranged in conjunction with other clubs such as ANSM or Toyota Nationals which have separate payment arrangements. PLEASE ENSURE YOU ADD 3% TO COVER THE TRANSACTION FEE.
